1930s Novelty Pegasus Print Handmade Dress (S/M)

Very special vintage c. late 1930s early 1940s hand sewn novelty print summer dress. The print is just unreal - it features the black outline of a woman riding a pegasus amongst vibrant red roses, pink and purple flowers and greenery on an ecru background. The fabric is a silky mid-weight cold rayon. A really classy cut with scoop neckline, short ruffled sleeves, smocked stitching at the waist and neckline, and metal zipper at the side (it is a pullover dress). Could be worn belted or as is. It has a really comfortable fit. Would fit a modern size small, please see measurements below.

Vintage label: none - homemade, handmade garment

Condition: Very good vintage condition - as this was hand sewn in most places the stitching isn't perfect but we have reinforced seams where necessary. It was taken in at the shoulders and we have left it like this. There are two small tears in the skirt at the back, not noticeable at all when worn due to the vibrancy of the print. The smocking at the waistline is purely cosmetic - does not have any elasticity. Sold "as is". Please see photos for details.
